A Small Team Focused on Practical AI Education

Pyxida was built on a simple idea: learners do better when they work on real problems with someone who can explain the reasoning behind each step.

About Pyxida

How We Started and Why It Matters

Pyxida grew out of conversations between software practitioners and adult learners in Bangkok who had tried various online resources and found them either too scattered or too shallow to produce usable skills. The name refers to a navigational instrument — a small compass — which reflects the organisation's intent: to give learners a reliable direction, not just a destination.

The organisation was formed in 2021 by a group of engineers and educators who had each spent time teaching in informal contexts — workshops, community groups, company internal sessions — and saw that structured, small-scale mentoring produced results that self-study materials rarely matched on their own.

From the beginning, Pyxida concentrated on a narrow topic area: applied AI development using Python. Rather than building a wide catalogue of courses, the team chose depth over breadth — three interconnected programmes that take a learner from their first script to a portfolio project they can genuinely discuss in detail.

The Bangkok location matters. Thailand's technology sector has grown steadily, and there is real demand among both Thai nationals and expatriates for substantive training that goes beyond surface-level introductions to AI tools. Pyxida serves learners who want to understand the mechanics of machine learning, not just use it as a black box.

The approach is deliberately low-pressure. Learners are not chasing scores or competing for rankings. The measure of progress is whether a learner can explain and extend their own work — a standard that turns out to be more meaningful than any numerical grade.

Pyxida operates with a small core team and a network of associate mentors, which keeps the learner-to-mentor ratio low and the quality of feedback consistent. Most decisions about programme content are reviewed annually based on what learners have found useful or unclear.

Nattakan spent eight years building data pipelines for logistics companies before moving into education. She designs the Foundations and Applied ML curricula and leads most learner check-ins.

How We Keep Quality Consistent

Annual Curriculum Review

Programme materials are reviewed each year against current industry practices. Learner feedback is a formal part of every review cycle.

Written Feedback on All Work

Every submitted project receives written comments from a named mentor — not automated scoring — with specific suggestions for improvement.

Low Learner-to-Mentor Ratio

Enrolment numbers are kept proportional to mentor availability. We do not expand intake if it means reducing the quality of mentoring contact.

Data Privacy Practices

Learner information is held securely and used only for the purpose of delivering the programme. We do not share data with external parties for marketing.

Portfolio-Grade Project Standards

Project briefs are written so that completed work is documentable and discussable — not just a passing exercise with no lasting value.

Our Approach

Education Shaped Around Real Work

AI development education in Thailand has expanded rapidly over recent years, but the quality varies considerably. Many introductory resources are accessible and well-produced, yet they tend to stop short of the point where learners can actually build something from scratch. Pyxida's programmes begin where most introductions end.

The Foundations of AI Development programme introduces learners to Python programming and data handling without assuming prior experience in either. The focus is on building confidence with the tools before attempting anything conceptually demanding. Projects in this stage are small and deliberate — chosen because they illustrate a concept clearly, not because they are impressive.

The Applied Machine Learning programme takes learners who have a working knowledge of programming and introduces them to the process of building, evaluating, and iterating on models using real data. The emphasis is on understanding why a model performs the way it does, and what adjustments are available when it does not perform as expected.

The Capstone Mentorship programme is the most open-ended of the three. Learners select or develop a project idea with guidance from their mentor, then work through research, implementation, evaluation, and documentation over an extended period. The output is a piece of work the learner understands thoroughly and can explain in detail.

Pyxida is based in Chatuchak, Bangkok, and serves learners across Thailand and remotely. Programmes are conducted in English, and all written materials are available digitally.
